Intensive Training on Climate Urbanism Implementation Strategies
Intensive Training on Climate Urbanism Implementation Strategies
Most of the work is done in silos. Most of the training courses are either too long or too technical. There is little opportunity to network with the highest-profile international scholars and professionals who teach climate change implementation strategies and link spatial justice with climate change adaptation and mitigation. We got them in person in Barcelona for 3 days for a unique event, mixing in-depth classes with time for networking and tutorship, while also meeting Barcelona’s city officials, and visiting the city’s latest initiatives.
Date: 9-11 April
Location: Barcelona

In the framework of the Barcelona Resilience festival “Primavera R” (Friday, April 11th), where many resilience initiatives will open their doors to the public for a day, this intensive training will allow you to link the theory of climate urbanism with spatial justice, to navigate theories and implementation mechanisms avoiding greenwashing and green/climate gentrification before enjoying the festival.
Agenda:
Meet our global keynote speakers all in person:
Participants
The training is ideal for mid- and senior-career urban practitioners, city officials, consultants, researchers and policymakers involved in climate adaptation and urban resilience, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in practice. The event will be especially valuable for those looking to bridge the gap between theory and practical implementation aligning justice, carbon neutrality and resilience. More and foremost, it will also offer a unique opportunity for networking with well-established international scholars and practitioners.

Primavera R networking
Primavera R networking
Primavera R is about building connections; both locally and globally. The idea for the festival grew out of the Resilience Brunches, where we realized that while Barcelona is home to many inspiring climate resilience initiatives, they often operate in isolation. There is so much knowledge and experience here, but few opportunities to share, collaborate, and grow together. Join us and meet with other professionals shaping resilience in Barcelona! We’re bringing together changemakers for a night of connection, short talks, and live music at La Vaca.
Date: 11 April, 2025, 19:00-23:00
